Church Property and/or Lettings Officer

Location: St John’s United Reformed Church, Wilderspool Causeway, Warrington Cheshire. WA4 6QE (next to Esso Garage)

Hours: 12 hours per week (3 hours Lettings Officer; 9 hours Property Officer)

Wage: £10.25 per hour

Work pattern: flexible to include evenings, weekends and daytimes

Duration: one year temporary contract in the first instance
 

St John’s is a small church building and halls and is not listed therefore the tasks outlined in the Job Description are not onerous. These are two completely different roles, and we are  aware that one person might not have all of the skills necessary for both roles. Therefore, we would be willing to consider applications for the separate roles. It is not essential to be a member of a church.

Both roles: We are looking for a trustworthy, friendly person. This person will often be the first point of contact with visitors to the building, so they need to be confident, with a courteous, kind and helpful manner, face to face and over the telephone. They need to be flexible, self-motivated, hardworking and able to organise their own workload from a schedule of tasks. They must be able to work alone and part of a team and have some basic IT skills.

Property Officer: We are looking for a person who has practical skills who will ensure that the church premises and grounds receive proper care, cleaning, maintenance and treatment. The Job Description outlines the role in detail.
 

Letting Officer: We are looking for someone with good communication and administration skills (including familiarity with emails, Word, Excel etc). They need to have an excellent telephone manner and be well organised. Responsibilities are to co-ordinate all aspects of renting the church premises as detailed in the Job Description.
